As the Chair of the Scientific Program Committee, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to attend and participate in the 15th International Child Neurology Congress to be held in Mumbai, India November 15-18, 2018. The meeting will follow in the tradition of the very successful ICNC meetings in the past by offering the most important advances in pediatric neurology and the opportunity to hear and interact with global leaders in the field in an exciting environment. We have already confirmed plenary lectures by several distinguished authorities and clinicians, and we are currently soliciting requests for proposals for symposia and workshops as well as proposals for oral and poster presentations.
We are designing a program that will appeal toseasoned clinicians as well as to younger trainees. Special features will be sessions on evidence based guidelines, forming internet-based global research networks, funding and conducting research in low income countries and how to get involved in clinical trials. The meeting is a combined effort by the ICNA, the Child Neurology Group in Mumbai, the Association of Child Neurology of India, and the Asian and Oceanian Child Neurology Association to assure broad relevance to the field.
I have attended numerous pediatric meetings and visited major academic centers in India over the years, and I have always come away impressed with the medical wisdom that has been developed by clinicians who see vastly more patients with more diverse diagnoses than we see in high income settings.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to learn more about the major tourist attractions in India with your friends and colleagues from a base in Mumbai (Bombay) which is one of the most cosmopolitan financial centers and seaports in the world.
I look forward to seeing you in Mumbai in 2018.
